2. What Data We Collect
Cats Countdown is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store or process any personal data on our servers.
The only data the app stores is:
- Countdown events you create — stored locally on your device only
- App preferences and settings — stored locally on your device only
3. Google Drive Backup (Optional)
If you choose to use the optional cloud backup feature, your countdown data is backed up to your personal Google Drive account. This means:
- Your data is stored in your own Google account, not on our servers
- We never have access to your Google account or its contents
- This feature is entirely optional — the app works fully without it
- Google's own Privacy Policy governs how your data is handled within Google Drive: policies.google.com/privacy
4. In-App Purchases
The app may offer optional in-app purchases via Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store any payment information. All transactions are handled entirely by Google Play. Google's Privacy Policy applies to all payment processing.
5. Permissions
The app requests the following device permissions:
- Internet — required for the optional Google Drive backup feature only
- Notifications — to send countdown reminders you have set up
- Schedule Exact Alarm — to deliver reminders at the precise time you requested
6. Third-Party Services
The app and website use the following third-party services:
- Google Play Billing — for in-app purchases
- Google Drive API — for optional cloud backup
- Google Play Services — for authentication with Google Drive backup
- Google Analytics — for anonymised website usage analytics
- Firebase Analytics — for anonymised in-app usage analytics
- Usercentrics — for cookie and consent management on our website

7. Analytics
We use the following analytics services to collect anonymised usage data to help us understand how the app and website are used and improve the experience:
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymised in-app usage data, including device information, app usage patterns, and in-app events
- Google Analytics — collects anonymised website usage data, including pages visited and general device information
No personally identifiable information is collected by either service. On our website, analytics only activates after you have given consent via our cookie banner. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
8. Children's Privacy
Cats Countdown does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. The app contains no advertising and does not collect personal information.
9. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
As a UK-based service, we comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Since we do not collect personal data, there is typically no data for us to provide, correct or delete. However, if you have any concerns, please contact us at support@catscountdown.com.
10. Data Retention
All data created in the app (your countdown events and settings) is stored locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time by uninstalling the app. If you use Google Drive backup, you can delete your backup data directly from your Google Drive.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at catscountdown.com and updated with a new "Last updated" date above.
